Yogiki (“Yo-gi-ki” or “Yo-zhee-kee” which in Russian also means “little hedgehogs”) is children’s yoga club that runs weekly classes in West London and Surrey.

Kids’ yoga is fun, creative and non-competitive and the use of animated poses and basic stretching exercises promote strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness. Breathing and visualisation techniques teach children how to focus, relax and develop self-control.

My mission is to promote kids’ yoga to parents and their children in a way of fun, interactive, educational and entertaining lessons. The classes are designed with 2 to 5, 5 to 7 and 7 to 10 year olds in mind and being held in a warm, caring, friendly and encouraging atmosphere. They last 25 to 45 minutes and include playing fun yoga games, storytelling, dancing, listening to music, singing yogi rhymes and songs, doing yoga-related art and practicing gentle meditation and relaxation. In other words we practice yoga – a union of the mind, body, and spirit – in a really fun and engaging way, the way children understand and accept with pleasure.

I encourage my little yogikis to discover space through play and use the power of imagination. We move, we pause, we sing and most importantly we enjoy ourselves having lots of fun! It inspires me to see these kids’ eyes sparkle and witness their sincere wiliness to discover new things, experiment with new ideas and create healthy habits.

I would also be delighted to teach private family classes from the comfort of your home or bring a practice as a part of your kids’ birthday party to give them and their little guests a taste of how yoga could enhance their health, happiness and learning potential.
